Dr. Murugan Kasi is a distinguished scientist and a teacher who has made significant contributions in the field of environmental microbiology and food biotechnology. He is currently working as Professor of Biotechnology in Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli,Tamilnadu, India. He holds his Bsc degree in zoology from the Madurai Kamaraj University, MSc and Ph.D degrees in microbiology from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. Dr. Murugan Kasi has over 23 years of teaching and research experience in the field of microbiology, nanotechnology and food biotechnology. He started his career as Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology in the P.G.P College of arts and science in 1995 and later in 1996 he moved to K.S.R College of arts and science and served in the same department as Reader in Microbiology till 09-10-2009. Also, served as an Associate Professor in Department of Botany and Microbiology, King Saudi University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia during the period 14.10.2009 to 23.08.2015. To his credit, he has so far published 42 research articles in internationally peer reviewed journals, 17 abstracts in national and international conferences, 2 books and 3 book chapters. Importantly, one of his research papers was featured in the Wiley top list of hottest articles Middle East countries. He also awarded with (FIAAM) Indian Association of Applied Microbiology Fellowship Award (2017) IISC – INSA – NASI: Summer Research Fellowship (2007). Also, he is serving as an editor in chief for one journal and reviewer for many reputed journals.
